Company
History

Precision Textiles traces its roots back to 1987, when Peter Longo, the company’s Chairman, founded Precision Custom Coatings (PCC) as a supplier of interlinings for distributors and fabric wholesalers in the apparel industry.

As the business grew and the global textile supply chain evolved, the company expanded its manufacturing footprint in Asia and gradually increased its technical and product development capabilities.

In 2004, the company entered the automotive industry, supplying materials used in speakers, upholstery liners, dashboard and door panel insulation, and headliners.

In 2007, when the federal 16 CFR 1633 open-flame flammability standard for mattresses went into effect, the company strategically entered the bedding industry—a move that would become a major long-term growth engine for the business.

Over the following years, the company continued to diversify and innovate, building deep technical expertise and a strong reputation as a materials solutions provider across the bedding, automotive, and healthcare industries. This was supported by advanced product development and testing in its state-of-the-art laboratory in New Jersey.

In 2018, the company sold its apparel-related business, formally exiting the apparel sector. At that time, the remaining business was renamed Precision Textiles, reflecting a strategic focus exclusively on non-apparel, engineered textile solutions.

Today, Precision Textiles is a trusted partner to leading manufacturers, known for delivering innovative nonwoven and laminate solutions, technical expertise, and performance-driven products designed, engineered, and validated in-house.
